Rare Cases of Liver Injury Reported With Use of Alli / Xenical

The US Food and Drug Administration has put out a warning for users of the weight-loss drug Alli / Xenical.  Use of Alli / Xenical may potentially cause severe liver injury.  Alli / Xenical are both used in weight-loss and contain the ingredient Orlistat.

The FDA has already approved a new label for Xenical and is currently working to revise the label of Alli. To date 13 cases of liver injury have been reported to the FDA.  Symptoms of liver injury itching, yellow eyes or skin, dark urine, loss of appetite and light-colored stools.
